DESCRIPTION:Our Climate Café is a welcoming space to connect\, reflect\, a
 nd talk about climate emotions in a supportive community setting. Join us 
 for meaningful conversation\, warm drinks\, and a chance to slow down toge
 ther.\n\nApril topic: Can we Prevent Wildfires\n\nBritish Columbia has a w
 ide diversity of ecosystems - grassland\, brush and forest. Some ecosyste
 ms depend on fire for renewal. A farmer may even burn their field to clear
  the land for planting\, or to control pests\, disease and weeds. Fire is 
 not always a good thing\; in many cases we don’t actually want it. With 
 so much biodiversity can we actually prevent wildfires? Or even control th
 em?\n\nEach discussion will focus on a single topic presented by Ocean Amb
 assadors Canada. This free event is made possible with support from West V
 ancouver Foundation. Refreshments provided. Pre-registration is required.
